The Company RUDEVIT Granulated Fertilizer Company is a division of Rural Development Investment
Holdings Plc, (RUDEVIT) a company incorporated under the Companies Act 2013 whose securities are registered with the Registrar of Financial Institutions under the Financial Services Act 2010 and Securities Act 2010. RUDEVIT Holdings Plc which is a diversified conglomerate with interests in Agriculture, Agro-processing, Energy, Manufacturing, Mining and Equipment Hire Services, Tourism among others all focusing on rural areas. The Group’s vision is to spearhead the innovative economic development of rural Malawi through sustainable and growth oriented productive activities in key sectors of the economy and thereby creating new employment and markets in those identified sectors of the economy, generate or save foreign exchange and improve rural livelihoods. One of the identified investment sector is Manufacturing of granulated organic fertilizer. In Malawi, most smallholder farmers have limited access to chemical fertilizer and their usage is very low. However, over the years, through Government interventions under FISP/AIP programs, fertilizer use has increased from less than 10 kg/ha in 2005 to 55.8kg/ha in the years up to 2016. During the period from 2016 to-date, the country has been experiencing increases year on year in the cost of imported fertilizers owing to the international price increases and other market pressures. This has had the effect of reduced uptake by both smallholder and commercial farmers thereby significantly increasing cost of farming and reduced agricultural productivity.
The RUDEVIT Granulated Organic fertilizer is a product from recycled industrial, household waste, compost, cow dung, river sediments among other ingredients that are factory processed to produce affordable granulated organic fertilizer that can be used in various crops through integrated application or as a standalone application.
The RUDVIT Fertiliser Company aims to fill the gaps in the fertilizer industry by ensuring
that both smallholder and commercial farmers have access to affordable fertilizer produced
in Malawi.
The Position and key responsibilities
a) The project manager will be expected to be a hands-on person with traceable successful experience managing projects with bias to start-ups.
b) The person will play the lead role in planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing out the granulated organic fertilizer factory project getting it ready for commissioning.
c) The person will develop appropriate health, safety and security systems for spearheading innovative rural economic development the operational efficiency of the project.
d) The person will be expected to work hand in hand with designers, contractors, regulatory inspectors, licensing and quality control authorities, suppliers and other stakeholders in the development of the factory and infrastructure.
e) The person must demonstrate leadership qualities and capable to motivate teams to achieving desired results.
f) The person will be accountable for the entire project scope, the project team and resources, the project budget, and the successes. Depending on successful implementation of the project, the project manager will be expected to take leadership of the company upon commissioning.

Qualifications Bachelor Degree in Engineering, with a qualification in project management as an
added advantage.
Experience Minimum of 5 years traceable experience in project management roles in private sector and profit oriented businesses with responsibility for financial and operational results.
